This course is aimed at individuals who are looking to undertake the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) within their organisation. There are no mandatory prerequisites for this course however we would advise that individuals should have prior knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which is now the Data Protection Act 2018. Ideally, those wishing to take the course will have an understanding of information systems and perhaps prior experience working within an information systems environment.
The course teaches all of the fundamentals of being a DPO. It provides the user with the necessary knowledge and understanding to undertake the role successfully. Individuals wishing to become a DPO should have passed a course of instruction and not have any ‘conflict of interest’ with any other operational role. Users are able to benefit from the email support of one of our Senior Data Protection Officers which is potentially very helpful whilst they become accustomed to the role.
Note – there is a continual assessment during the course, with questions after each of the sections. Course has a pass mark of 85% based upon the cumulative score obtained during the assessment.
